Feature Programs - Winter/Spring 2009
Feature programs are seasonal in nature and are held throughout the year. Registration is required.
Animal Behavior
February 25th 2-3pm
Ages 6 and up
Members: $8 per student
Non-members: $10 per student
Learn about animal behavior with Mr. Ben. What is most important to a lizard - food, temperature, or security? What types of things affect the chirping rates of crickets? Why exactly do frogs 'croak'? These are some of the questions that we will be striving to answer when we study the behavior of animals. This program features a live-animal encounter. This is a 'drop-off' program, parents are not required to attend.
Watershed Study
March 21, 2-4pm
Ages 6 and up
Members: $8 per student
Non-members: $10 per student
This program will feature a demonstration of a working model of a watershed. After time spent understanding the model, students will venture to the stream and wetlands of the preserve for a discovery session. Students will get wet. Appropriate aquatic footwear is required (old tennis shoes, 'Crocks', 'aqua socks'. sandals, etc.). This is a 'drop-off' program, parents are not required to attend.
