Schedule a Guided Hike
for your Group
Enjoy a guided nature hike through our 46-acre preserve led by one of our staff. Hikes last approximately one hour, can be customized for a topic of interest, and can be scheduled at a variety of times.

One of the best ways to enjoy Autrey Mill
is to take a Guided Hike!
Each hike has a different theme and includes a guided exploration of the trails plus fun theme-related activities, often at stations along the trails.
- Hikes are scheduled for a variety of days after school and Saturdays.
- Hikes last about 1.5 hours.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Strollers are not permitted on the trails.
- Please arrive a few minutes early - Hikes start at posted time.
- Hikes will take place rain or shine (dress appropriately), but may be cancelled in cases of severe weather.
Ages 3 and above (children must be accompanied by an adult)
$5 for members, $7 for non-members.
This series of hikes is designed for family groups, but all are welcome!

Thursday, January 8
Senses - We will be using our senses to explore the trails. As we explore we will discover ways other animals use their senses. Register now
Tuesday, January 20
Habitats - Discover the habitats all around us. We will learn about the 4 elements that are essential to all life on earth.. Register now
Tuesday, February 3
Groundhogs and other Burrowers - Join us the day before Groundhog day to discuss burrowing animals. We will go on a hike in search of some of these common Georgia animals. Register now
Wednesday, February 18
Water Cycle - Everything flows down hill. Learn about where our water comes from and where it goes. We will be using an Enviroscape to demonstrate water usage. Register now
Thursday, March 5
Nocternal Animals - Come explore with us as we discuss the native nocturnal animals of Georgia. We will be listening for owls and frogs. Register now
Friday, March 20
Butterflies - Come learn about butterflies and some native plants that attract them. We will do an informal butterfly count as well as discussing some basic butterfly information. Register now
Saturday, April 4
Bats - Join us and learn about the smallest mammal on Earth! We will hike and look for bats. Register now
Thursday, May 7
Trees - Learn about everyday objects that come from plants and trees. Then we will go on a tree hunt and make a tree identification guide! Finish with leaf sorting game! Register now
