ORAL HISTORY PROJECT

We are undertaking a project to record the oral histories of people who had a connection to either the land of Autrey Mill or to the buildings now in our Heritage Village. Eventually, we hope to expand the project to include people who have lived in the communities of Warsaw, Ocee, Shakerag, and Newtown (the area that is now encompassed by the City of Johns Creek, GA.). The short-term goal is to create short videos to bring our buildings to life and to educate visitors about life here during the period of our buildings (mid 1800s to mid 1900s). However, the goal is also to accumulate a collection of memories that can be available to the community as a resource.

As a child, Mrs. Davis lived in 3 of the Autrey Mill buildings. She is allowing Autrey Mill to record her memories of the buildings, the land, and her childhood.
