Catch an early dinner then come enjoy a spring evening at Autrey Mill and learn about some of the equipment and skills you will need to take an overnight (or longer) trip into the woods! Whether you have never set up a tent, or you can put one up in the dark, come on out and pick up some tips from our experienced staff. We’ll have a campfire for making s’mores, gear demonstrations, and plenty of stories to share our experiences and get you ready for your next adventure!
- Wade Chandler is Autrey Mill’s executive director. In 2008 he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and spent 3 years managing a backcountry lodge in North Georgia. He has fished, hunted, and kayaked in numerous places around Georgia and Florida.
- Ben Pitman is Autrey Mill’s Office Manager. He grew up hiking in Washington State, is an Eagle Scout, and has many miles on his boots from all over the US.
