Volunteer Opportunities...
Autrey Mill is operated by the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Association, Inc., a
501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Financial support is entirely from grants, donations, memberships,
and program fees.
In 1988 the Autrey Mill property was saved from development by volunteer
community activists who saw a need to protect the site. Since that time,
Autrey Mill has accomplished incredible feats with little money, but lots of
volunteer effort. With 46 acres of woodlands, trails, gardens, historic
buildings, classes, events, collections of artifacts and oral histories,
fundraising needs, etc. - the list of volunteer options is almost endless. But
here are some areas where help is needed.
- Group or Corporate Service Days - Work on assigned projects and then picnic with your friends for team building.
- Scout Groups and Eagle Scout Projects.
- Musicians, artists, and storytellers.
- Docents to lead tours and tell the stories of our historic buildings.
- Help with grant writing, marketing and promotion, graphic design and printing services.
- Trail building and maintenance
- Gardening - work with the North Fulton Master Gardeners the 3rd Wednesday
each month March - October.
- Community volunteer hours.
